H.E.R. Haven Blog/She Doesn’t Know It Yet, But She’s About to Turn Her Pain into Purpose

At first, I thought I was the problem.
Every time I was talked over in meetings.
Every time I was excluded from emails, projects, and conversations I should have been part of.
Every time I showed up and gave it everything I had—only to be belittled, targeted, and undermined.

I thought if I worked harder, if I kept quiet, if I didn’t rock the boat… maybe it would stop.

It didn’t.

The Silence Was the Hardest Part

I didn’t talk about it. Not to friends. Not to family.
Because I didn’t have the words. And even if I did—I didn’t think anyone would believe me.
I wasn’t bruised or broken in any obvious way. I just felt invisible… and exhausted.

So I started writing. Not for anyone else—just for me.
Journaling became my lifeline. It was the only place I could be honest about how much I was hurting.

And over time, something unexpected happened:
That private pain started to turn into purpose.

From Surviving to Speaking Out

Eventually, I got tired of being silent.
Tired of pretending. Tired of swallowing my truth to protect a toxic culture.
So I started sharing pieces of my story—nervously at first, but then with more and more clarity.

And what I found?
I wasn’t alone.
Not even close.

Women from all walks of life messaged me, reached out, or whispered, “Me too.”
That’s when I realized: the story I once hid could become a lifeline for someone else.

Now I Help Other Women Rise
What started as journaling to survive became my therapy.
And that therapy became my mission.

Now, I help other women who are trapped in toxic workplaces—just like I was.
I give them the tools I didn’t have.
The words I couldn’t find.
The confidence I had to rebuild from scratch.

Because no woman should have to navigate this alone.
And no woman should have to question her worth because of someone else’s insecurity.

Final Thoughts: The Power Was Always Inside Her

She doesn’t know it yet, but she’s about to turn her pain into purpose.
She’s about to find her voice.
She’s about to say, “I deserve better than this.”
And she’s going to rise—not just for herself, but for every woman who’s ever felt unseen, unheard, or unworthy.

💥 Because that voice they tried to silence?
It’s going to help other women rise too.

Hi, I'm Martina O'Neal

Creator of H.E.R. Haven Blog

I help women in male-dominated workplaces overcome bullying, beat stress and anxiety, and go from just surviving the workday to truly thriving from 9 to 5.

I worked as a Construction Project Manager in Corporate America for more than 20 years, so I know all too well the fear of participating in weekly meetings and dealing with a difficult boss.

It's my goal empower and guide women to thriving in any workplace even in a room full of men.
